Place: Immaculate Conception of Mary Parish Kifaru

Youth day was held on 28th December. 57 youth participated in the program.  One day program started at 9.00 with registration.  At 10.00 a.m. we had Holy Eucharist.  11.00 a.m. onwards the DonBosco brothers took session to the youth.  The group was divided into two and sessions were taken separately.  The theme of the Day was Leadership through Service. The leadership in the school, leadership in the Church and leadership in the society was dealt in detail.  

There was group discussion and activities were conducted to make the youth understand and instill the theme of the day.  4 brothers conducted the session in a creative way by using the PowerPoint presentation.  They kept the whole group lively with their singing and activities. Parish priest in his homily motivated the youth to study well and acquire good knowledge and skills to built a better future.  He stressed the importance of time, how to make use of the time well and grow in knowledge.  

The youth liked the session.  They appreciated the whole program.  It was a good opportunity for the youth to come together.  The program gave motivation for all the students to go ahead with a lot of enthusiasm as they begin the new academic year.   The youth got a kind of new spirit to go forward in the New Year.

This program was like a push to make a good plan for the year ahead of them. At the end of the program some youth shared that they liked the program, it is good that we have good motivation as we begin a new year.  2 youth said we should do something in the next year.  One youth said “I will use all the opportunity in the coming year to do well; I will study well and score good marks”.
